Payment and Refund Policy
Last updated: 23 September 2026
Scope of This Policy
This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all courses and related services offered by theatrexel through its website. The courses cover professional video operation, live signal management, content distribution, camera work, and the creation of reliable high-quality feeds for news programmes and television broadcasting. It governs purchases made by consumers located in the United Kingdom and explains how payments are processed, when contracts are formed, and the circumstances under which refunds may be available. The policy does not cover third-party services or products accessed through external links.
Prices, Currencies, Taxes and Additional Charges
All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling. Course fees include applicable Value Added Tax at the prevailing UK rate unless otherwise stated. Additional charges such as payment processing fees or currency conversion costs may apply if you choose a payment method that incurs them. theatrexel reserves the right to adjust prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders already confirmed. Any promotional discounts are applied at the checkout stage and cannot be combined with other offers unless explicitly permitted.
Accepted Payment Methods, Authorisation and Security
We accept major credit and debit cards, bank transfers, and approved digital wallets. Payment is authorised at the time of order placement. All transactions are processed through secure third-party payment gateways that comply with UK data protection standards. Your card details are never stored on our servers. In the event of a payment failure, you will receive an immediate notification and the order will not be processed until a successful payment is completed.
Order Confirmation and Contract Formation
Upon successful payment you will receive an order confirmation email containing details of the course, access instructions, and a summary of the transaction. A binding contract is formed only when we send this confirmation. Until that point, theatrexel may decline the order for any reason, including suspected fraud or stock unavailability of digital access codes.
Cancellation Rights and Applicable Periods
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have the right to cancel most distance contracts within 14 calendar days without giving a reason. The cooling-off period begins on the day the contract is concluded. For digital content or course access that begins immediately, you must expressly consent to waive this right before access is granted. If you cancel within the period and have not started the course, you are entitled to a full refund.
Refund Eligibility, Exclusions and Non-Refundable Items
Refunds are available for cancellations made within the statutory cooling-off period where no course content has been accessed. Courses that have been started, downloaded materials, or completed modules are non-refundable. Promotional or discounted courses may carry additional restrictions clearly stated at purchase. Refunds will not be issued for change of mind after the cooling-off period or for failure to meet personal expectations once access has begun.
Step-by-Step Procedure to Request a Refund
To request a refund, contact [email protected] or submit the form on our Contacts page. Include your order number, full name, and a brief explanation. Requests must be made within the applicable time limits. We will acknowledge receipt within two working days and guide you through any further information required, such as proof of purchase.
Inspection, Approval, Rejection and Notification
Each refund request is reviewed against the eligibility criteria set out above. You will be notified of the decision by email within ten working days. If approved, the refund will be processed without further delay. If rejected, we will explain the reasons and, where appropriate, offer alternative resolutions such as course deferral.
Refund Method, Processing Time and Receipt of Funds
Refunds are returned to the original payment method. Processing typically takes five to ten working days, although bank transfer refunds may take longer depending on your financial institution. You will receive confirmation once the refund has been issued. If funds do not appear within the expected timeframe, please contact [email protected] for assistance.
Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions and Promotional Offers
Digital course access is provided immediately upon payment confirmation. By consenting to immediate access you acknowledge that the statutory cooling-off period no longer applies once content is opened. Subscription-based courses renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Promotional offers are subject to their own terms and may exclude refunds after activation.
Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks and Suspected Fraud
In the case of failed payments or duplicate charges, please notify us immediately via [email protected]. We will investigate and issue corrections where warranted. Chargebacks initiated without valid grounds may result in account suspension and recovery of costs. Suspected fraudulent activity will be reported to the relevant authorities and may lead to immediate order cancellation.
Mandatory Consumer Rights in the United Kingdom
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, or UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. These rights cannot be excluded or limited by contract. If any provision of this policy is found to be unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in full force.
